Auto-select Lowest Cost Shipping or ALCS is a feature by OrderCup that allows you to automatically select the lowest cost shipping service for a package, thus allowing you to save time & money.
To use ALCS you need to setup a Shipping Profile at Settings --> Stores --> Shipping Profile with the virtual carrier & service [Any Carrier] [Lowest Cost Service].
You can set the other attributes of the shipping profile just like you would set up for any real carrier, service just like the example in screenshot below:
Click Save and the shipping profile is created, that's it.
Now, when any order comes in with such Requested Shipping Profile (RSM) that has [Any Carrier][Lowest Cost Service], then OrderCup will automatically fetch rates for each of the enabled services in your configured carriers and assign the lowest cost service to the order. You can see this when you load the order for shipping on the ship page. You can always change and ship with a different service if you wish so.
If you prefer to ship with a particular carrier even though multiple carriers are configured in your account, you can create the ALCS shipping profile for that particular carrier. Rest configuration & application remains the same.
